Results of the VIII International Conference “Gas Transportation Systems: Present and Future” (GTS-2019) 23–25 October 2019
Gazprom’s Conference “Gas Transportation Systems: Present and Future” (GTS-2019) hosted by Gazprom VNIIGAZ on 23–25 October 2019 brought together more than 450 leading experts from 159 companies and 7 countries: France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Republic of Belarus, Russia, The Netherlands. The total of 150 presentations were made on the following topics:
· Technologies of main gas transportation;
· Design, construction and operation of compressor stations;
· Management of GTS technical condition and integrity;
· Line pipe production, welding and allied technologies, protective coating of plant extrusion;
· Construction, repair and corrosion protection of gas transportation facilities.
9 poster reports were presented in the Poster session.
At the round tables participants of the conference discussed the issues of risk-based design, construction and operation of gas pipelines, digital transformation of GTS, violation of protected zones and minimum distances: best practices of GTS safe operation, advanced equipment, materials and technologies for gas transportation and storage
The exhibition of the same name was held within the frameworks of the Conference and was attended by 18 companies as exhibitors. Among the exhibitors were Silver sponsor of the conference Gazprom Stroytek Salavat JSC and Bronze sponsor — Pipeline systems and technologies CJSC.
The Plenary session of the conference was chaired by Maxim Nedzvetskiy, Deputy head of Gazprom`s Department and General Director of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC.

Grigory Trubnikov — First Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation;
Vitaly Markelov — Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee, Gazprom PJSC, Chairman of GTS 2019 Organizing Committee;
Pavel Zavalny — Chairman of the Energy Committee of the State Duma, President of the Union of Oil and Gas Companies «Russian Gas Society».
The participants of the conference at the Plenary session were addressed by:
Bogdan Budzulyak — President of SRO «ASGiNK», Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Honored Worker of Oil and Gas Industry of the Russian Federation;
Alexey Petrov — Director of Association «Design-Engineer»
Key presentations were made by:

· Nikolay Makhutov — Corresponding member of RAS, Chairman of the RAS Presidential Task Force on Risk and Safety Analysis;
· Sergey Alimov —Deputy General Director, Gazprom Avtomatizatsiya PJSC, Chairman of the Board, SOPCOR, regulating organization noncommercial partnership;
· heads of relevant Departments, subsidiaries and partner companies of Gazprom PJSC.
The key report on the part of Gazprom PJSC on topical issues of gas transportation systems was presented to the conference participants by Deputy Head of the Directorate of Gazprom PJSC Mikhail Sidorochev.

At the Closing Plenary Session the chairmen of the sessions noted a high level of all presented subject reports and the depth of study of the covered issues.
The next permanent IX International conference “Gas Transportation Systems: Present and Future” is scheduled to be held in the second quarter of 2021.
