The conference of Gazprom JSC “Gas Transportation Systems: Present and Future” held in Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC on October 29 and 30, 2013, was visited by more than 400 leading specialists of 172 companies from 16 countries all over the world: Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, Poland, the Republic of Belarus, Russia, Romania, the USA, the Ukraine, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Japan.
At the plenary meeting Sergey Alimov, the first deputy of the head of the Gas Transmission, Underground Storage and Utilization Department of Gazprom JSC, greeted the participants of the GTS-2013 conference on behalf of Vitaly Markelov, the Deputy of CEO of Gazprom JSC. Dmitry Lyugay, the Member of the Board, the Head of the Perspective Development Department of Gazprom JSC, Pavel Zavalny, the Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee of the RF State Duma, the chairman of Russian Gas Society, and Ruslan Goryukhin, the Executive Director of the Equipment Manufacturers Association “New Technologies in Gas Industry” sent their greetings to GTS-2013 participants as well.
140 reports were heard within the frames of plenary meetings and the work of five technical sessions on the following subjects:
- trunk gas transmission technologies;
- design, construction and operation of compressor stations;
- control of the technical condition and integrity of gas transmission systems; and
- piping, welding technologies and protective coatings.
Scientific accomplishments presented by 33 Russian and foreign companies were exhibited at the same-name exhibition held in the Institute simultaneously with the GTS-2013 conference.
The conference participants note a high level of presented subject reports and relevance of some research trends.
Taking into account the great scientific and practical value, it was recommended to hold the 6th International Conference “Gas Transmission Systems: Present and Future” in October 2015.
The decisions of the conference are currently being edited and will be uploaded on the conference website in the nearest future.
